Why Checklists?
A question we consistently receive is, “Why has your corporate training app introduced a checklist feature?”
The answer is that mobile devices create an excellent opportunity for learning AND task completion to happen in the flow of work.
Practically speaking, companies are trying to focus on their core needs and streamline the complexity of managing dozens of best-of-breed apps. They don’t want a dozen apps when they can have two.
Corporate buyers can do this because - even though there is no lack of very good checklist creation software - they are telling us that in most cases the 80/20 rule applies and the same features are used time after time. The feedback we heard from companies with mobile, frontline workers in the EHS market was that people in the field need something straightforward and intuitive. They want simplicity. This is what they have asked us to integrate into the app.
Utilizing these checklists can increase quality and safety within an organization. It becomes even more powerful when the user can look beyond the checklist, see what is next, and do that in a single app.

How Does it Come together?
We think the real power of checklists comes from seamlessly integrating the user experience into a single, operational workflow.
Imagine a field service technician conducting a daily checklist of a piece of machinery. Within a single app, he scans a barcode to unlock his daily checklist. In the process of completing the checklist he notices the machine is not operating properly. He is able to check the operating manual from within the app to troubleshoot and identifies a work around. He records a short video to send to his colleagues so everyone will know the machine is broken and when he expects the arrival of the parts to fix it.
This sort of maintenance and troubleshooting can only come from an integrated experience. Here is how it all comes together in the app as a user experience.
